About the position

Our client in the solution industry is looking for a seasoned Account Manager that can join the the team. This person needs to have a strong customer service acumen and manage accounts by exploring gaps with the current clients the person is managing.

  • Account Managers focus on achieving their sales targets from within existing accounts only. As with mostlarge deals, the organisation seldom entrusts the decision to just one person. A virtual 'Buying Centre' isestablished comprising several stakeholders from various disciplines, each with their own agenda tocollectively influence and contribute to the decision-making process, typically led by an appointed (senior)'Decision Maker' charged with the overall responsibility. Account Managers (AMs) require 'political savvy'to be able to navigate these complex high value deals. AMs enjoy the challenge of finding and closinglarge 'New Business' deals, in the new business 'uncharted' territory or on existing Accounts respectively.
  • Account Managers perform 2 primary roles, Account Management and Account Development:
  • Account Management is the day to day attention to and smooth running of their Account(s), delightingthe client(s) with good customer service in all aspect of administration and delivery of service.
  • Account Development is managing the Account like a market-place, constantly finding and closingadditional business, becoming more entrenched and maximising 'share of wallet'. Providing 'thoughtleadership' and being more and more of a 'trusted advisor' to the client.
  • Account Managers require 3 'Bodies of Knowledge':

  • Know the Account's Industry/Business

  • Know the Account
  • Know your Company, its Offerings and its Capabilities
