Cleaner at Government Employees Medical Scheme

About the position

The position of Cleaner is currently vacant. The Cleaner will report directly to the Supervisor: Cleaning and form part of the Corporate Services Division. The position is based at GEMS Head Office.

The total remuneration package for this position per annum is R130 821 (negotiable based on qualifications and experience).

The Cleaner will provide support to the Supervisor: Cleaning through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

• Always display a Professional image.
• Ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained through the Head Office.
• Vacuum all carpets and upholstery.
• Dust and polish all chairs, desks, counters, and shelves.
• Sweep and wash/mop floor tiles.
• Dust all other fixtures and fittings, including skirting, radiators, pipes, fire extinguishers and any other surfaces within reachable height.
• Empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated area, including the separation of waste for recycling.
• Clean internal glass and internal and external door glass.
• Clean all ablution facilities as per set standard and procedures.
• Wash dishes and ensure that the kitchen is always kept clean and hygienic.
• Prepare setup for boardrooms, training room and meeting rooms in respect of cleanliness, meeting requirements and as instructed by the supervisor.
• Prepare refreshments for all meetings and workshops conducted in Head Office.

Qualification requirements are:

• NQF Level 2 equivalent/ABET Level 4 /Grade 10 qualification/and/or NQF 1 occupation-related certification.
• Be organised and have good time management skills.
• Have the ability to manage priorities.
• Have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Be responsible and reliable.
• Have a diligent work ethic with attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and pro-active.

Desirable:

• Experience working in corporate cleaning services
