Mid-level Motion Designer (Coding Skills required)
Over the last decade, Webrepublic has grown from an ambitious startup into Switzerland's leading digital agency. Recently, Webrepublic launched a subsidiary in South Africa, working hand in hand with our HQ in Switzerland. Our team in Cape Town has expanded, and we are now seeking a Motion Designer to elevate our local presence into a large-scale operation.
As a Motion Designer you will be working on the production, animation & programming of suitable advertising materials with a focus on motion design & rich media display banners. You will work interdisciplinary with our consultants from other units on campaigns and campaign concepts. Together with motivated, creative and energetic new Webrepublicans, we want to keep the agency landscape on its toes.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Creative Director, your duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Create layouts and storyboards for digital media assets, including Social (Video) Ads, HTML5 Ads, and/or (Digital) Out Of Home Materials,
- Convert layouts and storyboards into animated Video or HTML5 Ads,
- Collaborate on Interactive Online Ads & Marketing Automation Setups, focusing on technical and visual aspects such as Dynamic HTML5 or Dynamic Video Ads,
- Explore and utilise emerging media and visual technologies like Generative AI and Augmented/Virtual Reality,
- Implement an 80-20 principle for balancing quality output with meeting deadlines,
- Maintain client-brand consistency and work with corporate identities and brands, including specific typography, grids, layouts, colours, and iconography.
Qualifications and Skills
As an ideal candidate, you must have the following:
- have of a design qualification and at least 3 years of relevant work experience,
- have knowledge in CSS/HTML/JavaScript and adept at DOM manipulation,
- be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Adobe XD, and skilled in After Effects and other video-focused tools,
- be familiar with ad serving in the Google ecosystem, including Google Studio and Campaign Manager 360, and skilled in setting up dynamic display campaigns,
- have strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively,
- have the ability to execute ideas quickly and manage time effectively to meet deadlines,
- be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work autonomously,
- be fluent in English, (knowledge of German is a bonus).
