Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the export and import processes, ensuring compliance with international regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and carriers to secure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Prepare and process essential shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Negotiate rates and terms with shipping lines, airlines, and other service providers.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery, addressing any issues or delays promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking information, customs documentation, and shipping costs.
- Stay informed on changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures affecting operations.
- Provide support and guidance to other departments regarding export/import requirements and procedures.
RequirementsQualifications / Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Proven experience as an Export/Import Coordinator or in a similar role (we're preferably looking for someone that has experience working in both a Freight-Forwarding environment and end user company doing imports/exports of various technical goods)
- In-depth knowledge of Inco Terms, shipping procedures, cross trading, and freight forwarding.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with a strength in Excel.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation and data.
