Cost and Management Accountant

About the position

Responsibilities:

• The Cost and Management Accountant will be responsible for leading the accurate costing, accounting, reporting and profitability of various projects within the business
• Prepare cost estimates based on briefs received from the Project Managers
• Accurate allocation of time and resources spent on various projects
• Accurate allocation of group overheads to various projects
• Comparing purchase orders against this budget/cost estimate
• Monitoring actual spend against budget
• Capturing of invoices against the various projects in the accounting system
• Submitting all relevant invoices for payment
• Reporting on project profitability vs budget
• Prepare variance analysis
• Maintaining all relevant source documents/accounting records for audit trail
• Incorporation of new companies on Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) and maintenance of all related statutory requirements
• Monthly pay run preparation
• Bi-monthly cashflow reconciliation for all costs incurred, per project

 

Requirements:

• B. Com, B. Acc, Cost and Management Accounting Degree/Diploma or any related accounting qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience in an infrastructure environment
• Ability to accurately reconcile accounts
• Handle daily issues with confidence and competence
• Experience with CIPC will be beneficial
• Attention to detail and highly organised
