Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd requires the services of a Superintendent Continuous Improvement at their Black Rock Mine Operations situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

Description
Leading the continuous improvement initiatives which include identifying opportunities, evaluating business processes, translating business requirements into system requirements, developing and implementing solutions, creating continuous improvement awareness, monitoring new processes and providing ongoing support to manage the organisation through various change initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
• B Tech / Bachelor degree: Mining Engineering / Industrial Engineering (Required)
• Management Development Programme (Recommended)
• CI related Certification (Advantageous)

Experience and Requirements: 

• 4 Years Implementation and Consulting in Mining and Engineering change initiatives/ Strategic Consulting / Continuous Improvement related functions / Project Management.
• 1 Year Management/ Supervisory Experience.
• Identify, plan and implement initiatives to respond to changes in the industry, legislation, and other related matters including transformation and optimisation.
• Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot-checks.
• Analyse business performance to identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members. Recognise and reward team member efforts.

Knowledge and Skills: 

• Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes.
• Plan, direct and assess Quality Management within sub-function and recommend remedial actions where necessary to ensure adherence to TQM principles.
• Provide input into functional planning. Interpret functional plan and develop sub-functional plans.
• Ensure operational plan is implemented.
• Manage the efficient and effective utilisation of resources.
• Optimise systems and processes continuously to ensure production efficiency targets and operational plans are met.
• Optimise the core operational internal processes and resolve operational conflicts.
• Work with key stakeholders to drive process improvements that quantitatively and qualitatively improve costs, quality and service.
• Develop project plans for the implementation of various improvement and change management projects to ensure delivery on-time, on budget and to the required quality.
• Assist project sponsors in management the delivery of tasks and activities of the project team to ensure deadlines are maintained.
• Educated and coach the organization about continuous improvement methodologies and implement them.
• Facilitate Continuous Improvement opportunities within the organization.
• Direct the management of prioritized portfolio of improvement ideas – sign off on all ideas from implementation through to sustainability. Test improvement ideas for value and ease.
• Assist in implementing various change initiatives throughout BRMO as required. Provide guidance into the establishment and delivery of change projects that support the strategic objectives of the organisation.
• Manage change projects in line with the BRMO Game plan and Strategic Framework.
