Quality Controller at Assmang Mines

About the position

Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd requires the services of Quality Controller at their Black Rock Mine Operations situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

Description
To ensure the engineering practices (internally & externally) comply to mine quality management system and approve new vendor quality systems.



Minimum Requirements

• Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
• Certificate: Engineering Studies N4 (Required)
• Certificate: Trade Test Artisan (Required)
• Certificate: Quality Control (Required)

Experience and Requirements: 

• 3 Years’ Post apprenticeship in an artisan trade in heavy industrial, winder, mining or plant environment.
• 5 Years’ Supervisory Experience.

Knowledge and Skills: 

• Microsoft Office, JDE and Oracle.
• Perform asset care activities as required to EAMS system including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders.
• Manage frequent quality inspection checklists for all equipment and material work areas.
• Report problems and make recommendations to Section Heads or HOD’s.
• Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
• Obtain information, check for accuracy, and capture data. File documents per procedure.
• Comply with safety, health, and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings.
• Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
• Contribute to team performance.
• Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
• Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.
• Participate in planning process for section. Execute plans within standard.
• Ensure to participate in continuous improvement research.
• Ensure consistent maintenance / quality / safety checks are carried out as required on ad hoc basis.
• Ensure to comply with quality and other ISO 14001 adherence to all Engineering practices in line with BRMO standards.
• Perform Technical investigations, recommendations, and reporting.
• Perform ad hoc investigations such as equipment failure, recommendations, and reporting.
