About the position
QA Manager who has a BSc in Micro / Food Technology/ BTech Quality, proven QA and FSMS exp. req. for well established multinational in Durban. The incumbent will direct the team, implement and manage QA systems to ensure consistency and compliance with customer specifications. Design, implement and Maintain Quality (ISO 9001) & Food Safety FSSC 22000 Systems across all BSBU's.
Ensure all applicable local standards, Company Global Standards and Legislation requirements are incorporated into the company's Quality Management System.
Identify and coordinate the necessary Quality and Food safety training needs across all BSBU's (Achiever Plus, Quality, Food Safety, PRPS, GMP and GHP).
Manage the internal audit programme (Audit Plan, Tracking Status of Audits, tracking action plan).
Coordinate external audits and manage actions from these audits.
Manage QA external service providers (SCS Africa, GOTECH and ECOLAB).
Effective management of QA budget.
Ensure full compliance to the OSH Act.
Provide Tempo support to all users in the roles of a Super User.
Manage the document control, Issues and Audit Database on Tempo.
Co-ordinate bi-annual management reviews.
Lead HACCP study teams and conduct HACCP reviews.
Compile weekly KPI reports.
Ensure that product specs are kept up to date.
Complete supplier questionnaires and renewals of Halaal and Kosher Certificates.
Conduct the quality review of raw materials/primary packaging.
BSc in Micro / Food Technology/ BTech Quality
5+ Years in the Food Industry / FMCG with relevant Quality, Food Safety and Safety Systems interface (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
Project Management experience
Proven problem-solving experience.
Advanced computer literacy.
Strong quality and food safety acumen
Business processes and acumen
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
OHS Act knowledge as well as Internal Auditing
