Cold Store Manager

About the position

Our client in the Meat Industry is requiring a hardworking and dedicated Cold Store Manager with good delegation skills to join their team in Queenstown. 

Successful candidate will oversee various activities involved in the storage of items in the cold (e.g., fridge or freezer). The role also includes being responsible for running, directing and monitoring a team of workers and to ensure the efficient running of goods in cold storage and a smooth flow of cold store orders received and dispatched.

Minimum Requirements:-

• Matric
• Diploma and/or Degree in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management advantageous
• 3-5 Years managerial experience in a cold storage
• Minimum 2 years working experience in the Meat or Food industry
• Valid Code 8 drivers license and own transport, Code 10 or 14 driver’s license advantageous
• Forklift license is advantageous
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Abaserve

Duties:-

• Ensuring cold store orders are received and dispatched and manage GRV’s 
• Manage Day/Night shifts, staff and staff training and loading of 5 to 10 trucks per shift 
• Receive and dispatch orders 
• Monitor stock rotation and levels 
• Ensure effective communication with suppliers and customers relating to stock 
• Liaise with the Debtors and Creditors Controller concerning stock 
• Perform monthly stock takes and review stock orders to determine forecasts for peak delivery periods
