About the position
JOB OVERVIEW
The Automation Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL & INDUSTRIAL automation products and solutions to prospective clients in South Africa. This role involves understanding customer needs, presenting suitable products, and achieving sales targets. The representative will also maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and target potential customers through leads, referrals, and research.
- Deliver persuasive sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of automation products and industry trends.
- Conduct market research to understand customer preferences and competitor activities.
- Generate and maintain accurate sales reports and forecasts.
- Provide post-sale support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling additional products.
- Stay updated with product knowledge and participate in training programs.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as a Sales Representative in automation or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in sales techniques, including prospecting, objection handling, and closing deals.
- Technical knowledge of automation products (compulsory) and the ability to convey information clearly.
- Resilience and the ability to thrive in a competitive sales environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and basic computer skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
