About the position
Westfalia Fruit Products situated in Midrand, has a permanent vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Procurement and Logistics Manager.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the incumbent will be responsible to manage all non-fruit related procurement (Fertilizer, Transport, Packing Material, Ingredients etc) for Westfalia Africa food products to ensure lowest cost, at the correct quality while maintaining reliable supply. To manage all Logistical activities inclusive of Warehousing, storage, transport, and distribution from Westfalia sites to the distribution centres.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Degree in Supply Chain/Procurement
- Commerce / Business / Engineering / Science
- 5 to 8 years Supply Chain experience with 3 years at a senior management level with responsibility of direct reports
- Experience in identifying cost savings and driving down costs with a track record of total cost savings
- Experience in managing food and packaging and/or fertilizer categories
- Experience in project management
- Experience in managing contract manufacturers
- Experience in managing warehousing (raw material and finished goods)
- Experience in optimizing and managing logistics
Knowledge:
- Strong commercial and financial understanding
- Food safety systems
- Agricultural sector knowledge
- Basic technical knowledge on farming, production, and packing
- Knowledge of Warehousing and logistics
- Knowledge of production planning
