About the position
Well established company in Cape-Town seeks a Dispatch / Distribution Manager
Role Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and distribution of all stock. Work closely with a team of warehouse associates to maintain inventory accuracy, implement best practices, and ensure timely order fulfilment.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least four years experience as a Distribution Manager / Dispatch Manager
- Proficiency on Sage / Pastel and MS Office Suite essential
- Valid drivers license and own transport
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control methods
- Understanding of safety regulations and procedures
- Excellent communication skills: Afrikaans and English (written and verbal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings
Duties will include:
- Organize and communicate with bulk and local outsourced deliveries.
- Communicate with the sales team regarding orders, ETAs, and late deliveries.
- Ensure documentation for transport and deliveries is completed and filed.
- Communicate with delivery staff.
- Prepare waybills
- Assist customers with collections and deliveries
- Check stock and escalate discrepancies to Operations.
- Support with picking, packing, and stock counts as required.
- Participate in HSE activities
- Participate in operational excellence and continuous improvement activities.
- Saturday stock take once a month.
